March 4th is World Book Day! To mark the occasion, Bottle Moments has teamed up with World Book Day to ask you to Show Your Shares.

Who do you most like to read with? What’s your favourite time to read? Where’s your favourite place to read together? If you have a special place that you go to, to read a book…or a reading bestie, why not tell us where it is, when it is, and who they are and draw them inside your very own Book Bottle?

Bottle Moments cartoonist Rob Murray will recreate 10 drawings about your shared reading moments that most catch his eye, and the 10 lucky winners will have a print of Rob’s drawing presented to them in person by Zanib Mian, one of this year's World Book Day £1 book authors and the creator of Planet Omar

A story share could be: reading at home with your family, reading in your favourite nook, reading in an unusual location, sharing a story with your pet, reading a book dressed as your favourite character, and more! Kids, share with us your shared reading Bottle Moments!

HERE'S HOW IT WORKS

Step 1: Download and print out your Bottle Moments template here. There are a few different designs to choose from!

Step 2: Draw your World Book Day Bottle Moment! Be as wacky, weird and wonderful as you like! You don't have to be the world's best artist - we want to see what you most like about reading, however you'd like to draw it! Above all, have fun!

Step 3: Get your parent, teacher, carer or a friend/family member to post a picture of your drawing on either their Instagram or Twitter (or you can post it yourself if you have your own account). Make sure they add a description of your Book Bottle, include your age, and use the hashtags #bottlemomentsbooks and #WorldBookDay in their post in order for your entry to count!

If you are unable to enter using social media, entries can alternatively be emailed to hello@bottlemoments.com - though make sure you clearly state your entry is for World Book Day instead of Covid-19 dreams. Please note, all entries will be considered, but we will not be able to reply individually to every single one.

The Competition

We will consider entries based on four age categories (which is why

you need to include your age!):

  • Under 5s

  • 6 – 8 years

  • 9 – 11 years

  • 12 – 16 years

When all the entries are in, we will pick out our 10 favourites - those that, for whatever reason, just happen to ‘catch our eye’ – across all age groups, which will be posted here.

Rob will draw customized commemorative cartoons of these10 selected drawings, which will be presented to the winners and their parents/carers - by one of World Book Day's 2021 £1 book authors, Planet Omar creator, Zanib Mian.

If you are under 16 years old, you must get permission from your parent or guardian before entering this competition.

Please note, by submitting a picture of your Bottle Moment, you give us permission to use, share and repost your artwork, and to use it online and in any promotional material aimed at publicising this project.

By uploading your image or submitting via email you are consenting to us holding your personal data. Your privacy is incredibly important to us. Your personal data (email address, social media) will only be used to communicate with you about Bottle Moments and this affiliated World Book Day project. We will not pass your data on to any third parties. View our privacy policy
