Calling all kids!

What are you dreaming of doing once the pandemic is over?

Girl Drawing

“Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up.”

~ Pablo Picasso

Almost a year on from Calling all Keyworkers, as the UK struggles to cope with an even more deadly second wave of the pandemic, we are relaunching Bottle Moments. But this time, with a bit of a difference.

Our first pandemic project was for keyworkers.

This time, Bottle Moments 2, is for the kids of the nation. Bottle Moments 2 gives a much-needed boost to parents & teachers at a difficult time, and, most importantly of all, it's great fun for the kids themselves. The week commencing 1st February, incidentally, is also Children's Mental Health Week.

In light of the challenges posed by home schooling, and those faced by teachers in schools for vulnerable and key-worker children that have remained open, we are putting out a nationwide call to schools & parents in the UK to get kids to draw their own Bottle Moments, with the opportunity of having their picture drawn by Bottle Moments cartoonist, Rob Murray, printed on a special mug, and presented to them in person by Good Morning Britain host, Ben Shephard.

Kids, what are you most looking forward to doing once the pandemic is over?

What is your Bottle Moment?

Your Bottle Moment is the one thing you'd most like to do again when everything is better and back to normal. It could be a friend you'd most like to see, a place you'd most like to go, a hobby you'd most like to get back to, or simply getting a hug from someone special.

HERE'S HOW IT WORKS

Step 1: Download and print out your Bottle Moments template here. There are a few different designs to choose from!

Step 2: Draw! What are you dreaming of doing once the pandemic is over? Be as wacky, weird and wonderful as you like! You don't have to be the world's best artist - we want to see what you're looking forward to, however you'd like to draw it! Above all, have fun!

Step 3: Get your parent, teacher, carer or a friend/family member to post a picture of your drawing on either their Instagram or Twitter (or you can post it yourself if you have your own account). Make sure they add a description of your Bottle Moment, include your age, and use the hashtag #bottlemoments in their post in order for your entry to count!

If you are unable to enter using social media, entries can alternatively be emailed

to hello@bottlemoments.com - though please note, all entries will be considered,

but we might not be able to reply individually to every single one.

The Competition

We will consider entries based on four age categories (which is why you need to include your age!):

  • Under 5s

  • 6 – 8 years

  • 9 – 11 years

  • 12 – 16 years

As lockdown begins to ease, Rob and Kev will pick out their 20 favourites - those that, for whatever reason, just happen to ‘catch their eye’ - from each age group. The baton will then be handed over to Good Morning Britain presenter and Bottle Moments supporter, Ben Shephard, who will pick his10 favourites from each of Rob and Kev's age group selections. Winning entries will be displayed on our site here.

Then, when lockdown is finally over, Rob will draw customized commemorative cartoons of each of Ben’s Top 10 choices from the four age groups, which Ben will present in person to the kids and their parents/carers - specially printed on Bottle Moments mugs - in a feelgood get-together when it is finally safe to do so.

If you are under 16 years old, you must get permission from your parent or guardian before entering this competition.

COMPETITION CLOSING DATE: MIDNIGHT, 21ST MARCH 2021
